Crawley Winter Warm Up is a free, welcoming Winter Wellness Day held at K2 Leisure Centre, designed especially for older residents and people living with health conditions.

 

The event offers:

• A range of accessible activities (e.g. Tai Chi, Chair-Based Ballet, Walking Cricket, Yoga, Badminton and more)
• A wide variety of local organisations providing advice, information and support
• Light lunch, tea, coffee and entertainment
• A friendly, inclusive and community-focused atmosphere

 

Last year’s event brought together hundreds of local residents for a day of connection, movement and support.

This year, we are particularly keen to create opportunities for younger people to volunteer alongside community partners, helping to foster meaningful connections between generations.

 

Time Commitment

The event runs from approximately 10am to 4pm on Thursday 8th October, with volunteers usually asked to arrive shortly before the public start arriving (exact timings will be confirmed closer to the date).

What skills do I need?

What Will Volunteers Do?

Volunteers play a vital role in making the day welcoming, accessible and enjoyable. Responsibilities may include:

• Meeting and greeting visitors as they arrive
• Providing timetables and information about the day’s activities
• Showing people around the venue
• Supporting people to access activities
• Assisting with refreshments and lunch
• Helping collect structured feedback from attendees

 

No specialist knowledge is required, just a friendly, patient and helpful approach.
