Volunteer Art Youth Worker

Art Inc

Do you like Art? Did you find school difficult? A challenging start in life may support your application.

Can you build good relationships with young people?

We are looking for volunteers to work at Art Inc. Art Inc provides Art workshops for young people who are at risk of school refusal through anxiety or low mood and for students where their challenging behaviour means they are at risk of school exclusion. We run workshops from Monday-Friday. We would expect volunteers to start at 8:45 to be prepared for our young people at 9:00 Students finish at 3:00 and we would expect staff to finish at 3:15. Our volunteers will support staff in delivering our workshops and engaging with our young people so their Art Inc experience is successful. We would be flexible and could offer mornings, afternoons or just specific days depending on the right candidate.

We are a new initiative and workshops will go live in September. Full training on the job will be given beforehand. There may be further opportunities for progression as our service grows. This is an exciting opportunity to build a valuable skill base.

Our volunteers will be able to demonstrate our following values:

Empathy

Nurture

Clear Boundaries

Inspire dreams

Our volunteers do not need to have experience or qualifications. We do have high expectations with how our volunteers conduct themselves. The safety of our young people is paramount to what we do. All our staff will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.

We are passionate about equality, diversity and inclusion and strongly support areas of our community that may be at present under-represented.
