Treasurer

We are looking for an experienced Treasurer to join us as a volunteer at an exciting time in our charity's development as we move from an organisation entirely run by volunteers to  one that employs salaried staff. Our new Treasurer needs to be a special person with empathy, an understanding of refugee issues and the proven skills needed to help us manage the charity's finances.

We offer a warm welcome and the chance to use your professional skills to make a real difference to refugee individuals and families in need.

What skills do I need?

• Professional accounting expertise

• Accounting capability, preferably using Xero software, ideally in a charity context.

• Understanding of budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning.

• Familiarity with charity financial regulations, Gift Aid management and charity reporting

When do I need to be available?

The Treasurer will need to be available to attend Trustee meetings 6 weekly, usually online on a Tuesday but other aspects of the role can be carried out during times to suit the applicant.
