Girlguiding Unit Helper

Girlguiding Crawley

Girlguiding is a relaxed, welcoming space where girls age 4-18 can have fun, learn and be themselves. They meet regularly in groups, called units which are split by age. (Rainbows 4-7, Brownies 7-10, Guides 10-14, Rangers 14-18). These meetings are run by volunteer teams, usually made up of adult leaders, helpers and young leaders who work together to plan and deliver awesome activities for girls. We have almost 20 units, spread across Crawley, meeting on various days/evenings of the week.

Our units are all quite different, which means all unit helpers do slightly different things. There’s a lot of space to make your role. But you'll likely:

Be an extra pair of hands to help make unit meetings happen.

Work with other volunteers to help girls get involved in activities, earn badges and awards – and celebrate when they achieve them!

Together with other volunteers, run fantastic activities that inspire girls, whilst helping to keep everyone safe.

You might get to go on planned sleepovers, events, trips or adventures!

Learn new things, make new friends, and demonstrate our values of caring, challenging, empowering, inclusive, fun and inspiring in all you do.
